The TeeBird3 represents the evolution of the TeeBird. Many people have described a lot of discs as a "faster TeeBird", but this is the real deal. The flat flight plate promotes speed while reducing glide, effectively producing consistent, accurate flights. This is a point and shoot, target specific fairway driver.
Plastic: Gstar - See all Gstar Discs
GStar is a blend of Innova's Star plastic that adds flexibility and even more grip. GStar is opaque like Star, but features a pearlescent sheen. Their allure is only surpassed by their beautiful flight. GStar discs have a smooth, gradual transition in flight and the same durability as the Star line. You can think of it as a grippier and flexier cousin of the Stars. Those are real words right? GStar is the best disc plastic for winter play. When the temperature drops and the air dries out it becomes more difficult to hold on to those discs. You end up with slip outs and an early release unless you start changing up your form. With the GStar plastic which is grippier and flexier you can maintain that same grip you had on your Stars even with your cold dry hands. Now you won't have to change up your form as much and you can practice or compete all winter long. The flexible plastic also keeps cold discs from cracking or breaking. I've never hit a tree myself but I've heard it can be hard on a cold disc.
Stamp: Stock Character
This is the standard, or stock, stamp for this mold in this plastic, at this time. Stock stamps change from time to time as manufacturers attempt to keep their offerings fresh.
The star plastic feels great with this disc and it flies very straight with a left finish at the end. Forehand and backhand are equally great with this disc.
For those with good speed the disc flies straight. In the champion plastic it starts out fairly overstable, and for slower arms it will hook to the left for right hand throwers. Bought three of these for my kids. Those that don't throw it as hard use it as a utility disc for dependable fade. Good durability, doesn't scratch easy in the champion plastic.
The Innova Ricky Teebird 3 is a great disc. I already had a star TL 3 ( AMAZING DISC) and this was a perfect step up in stability. I really enjoy this disc and it has a flat(ish) top which makes it work well for forehands.
This is an excellent 8 speed disc for $14. Great value. It has a good feel in your hand.
