Mold: The Innova Mamba Distance Driver in Gstar Plastic -- Speed: 11 | Glide: 6 | Turn: -5 | Fade: 1
See all Mambas
The Mamba has more high speed turn than any of our long range drivers, so throwing into a headwind is not recommended. For those with less driving speed, it will add distance. For the medium armed crowd, it will shape long lines for turnovers and straight shots, as well as hyzer flips and even big rolls.
Plastic: Gstar - See all Gstar Discs
GStar is a blend of Innova's Star plastic that adds flexibility and even more grip. GStar is opaque like Star, but features a pearlescent sheen. Their allure is only surpassed by their beautiful flight. GStar discs have a smooth, gradual transition in flight and the same durability as the Star line. You can think of it as a grippier and flexier cousin of the Stars. Those are real words right? GStar is the best disc plastic for winter play. When the temperature drops and the air dries out it becomes more difficult to hold on to those discs. You end up with slip outs and an early release unless you start changing up your form. With the GStar plastic which is grippier and flexier you can maintain that same grip you had on your Stars even with your cold dry hands. Now you won't have to change up your form as much and you can practice or compete all winter long. The flexible plastic also keeps cold discs from cracking or breaking. I've never hit a tree myself but I've heard it can be hard on a cold disc.
Stamp: Stock Character
This is the standard, or stock, stamp for this mold in this plastic, at this time. Stock stamps change from time to time as manufacturers attempt to keep their offerings fresh.
Exactly what I was looking for in an understable disc, great quality for the price!
I am an amateur player and the Mamba is the best driver I have found so far. I don't have a lot arm speed and the Mamba makes my throws look effortless. This disc is especially good when throwing an S curve line right hand backhand. Wind does tend to push this disc a lot so I would not recommend throwing through a cross wind.
I bought one in 175g weight to try as a distance driver, since I’m relatively new to disc golf. The understability makes this disc capable of good distance, with large s curves, but also really uncontrollable due to its speed. This disc makes a great roller, but if you want an under stable distance driver for more conventional shots, you might want to try a beat-in Star Shryke, or an out- of-the-box Daedalus.
