The Sidewinder is a fast flyer with a predictable high speed turn and lots of glide. This disc can add distance to anyone's drive, but is especially useful for those with less power. The Sidewinder is our best disc for long turnover shots and long distance rollers. Even disc golfers who have never had much success throwing a roller shot, will be amazed at the results they can achieve with the Sidewinder.
Plastic: Champion - See all Champion Discs
Our Champion Line is produced with hi-tech plastic that provides outstanding performance and durability. Champion discs are distinguished by a clear or pearlescent plastic that retains original flight characteristics for an extended period of time. Whether used in heavily wooded situations, or on extremely rugged courses, Champion Line plastic will continue to perform predictably and avoid damage.
Stamp: Stock
This is the standard, or stock, stamp for this mold in this plastic, at this time. Stock stamps change from time to time as manufacturers attempt to keep their offerings fresh.
Innova Champion I-Dye Sidewinder - 168g - Translucent Dyed
I got the Sidewinder after reading about its value as a roller disc. I'm newer to disc golf and expected the disc to be rather understable based on the flight numbers. After I graduated up to drivers I started throwing the Sidewinder and found it to be very neutral. When throwing float forehands, the disc held straight before dumping with more fade than I expected. When thrown on anhyzer or hyzer, the disc holds the lines well. This is great for beginners learning to throw distance drivers for the first time.
I like the disc, but it is definitely a beginner disc. It does get some good distance, but it does not work as well with a flick shot. I would say it is more of a speed 8. It is a good disc though and I would possibly buy another if I lost it.
Good disc when I need a bit more turn in my drive, pretty easy to get used to.
This was the first distance driver I ever threw and it remains a staple in my bag. A go to for hyzerflips and rollers.
