The aviar was the first putter I bought when I started playing. It does exactly what the stats say, it is inexpensive, and very much worth it. Awesome starting putter.
This disc has been around longer than almost any other putter out there. First putter I ever used was a DX Aviar P&A. Great disc that is copied by most of the other manufacturers.
I love this putter. I use it for putting over all of my putters. It has very good grip and it flies straight. What I love though about this disc, is that if you hyzer or anhyzer it you can also use it for doglegs. I love how this disc flies.
I have the Aviar in both DX and XT. When I first got it, I was disappointed the rim was deeper than expected. I've learned that the deeper rim is excellent for my putter grip, it allows more space on the outer rim for my index finger. Just as a putter, I am a fan. The XT feels like a more seasoned DX Aviar and is more grippy, though not as tacky as I was hoping.I still don't like the Aviar as an approach disc though, the rim is still a little too deep for my liking. I've learned to utilize my Roach for approaches.
Great putter to use when getting started into disc golf. Used it for a while for putts and approaches. Now mainly in my bag for approaches where i need to hold an anhyzer line either forehand or backhand around an obstacle. Would upgrade to KC Pro once you get some more experience.
The aviar is not a bad disc. It just is beadless. I do not like beadless putters. Total bias here. Others love this disc and it is a good disc to try out.
